The Golden eagles most deadly weapon is not the beak but it´s claws, which it forces down into it’s prey with the help of tendons in it’s claws. The Golden eagle possesses an almost unbelievable strength compared to its size. I know that skilled Golden eagles gets a hold over the head to avoid getting bitten and as we can see that´s what´s happening in this picture. The eagle takes no risks with a traffic killed badger.
My name is Conny Lundström and I am working as a nature photographer in the province of Västerbotten in the north of Sweden.
About 20 years ago, I began developing my interest in photographing; at the beginning an interest of a more general nature.
I took photographs of nature, which has always fascinated me, but also images of big cities etc. Fairly soon I focused exclusively on nature photographing, with emphasis on wild animals.
During the last fifteen years I have been photographing in a nature reserve and its surroundings in the north of Sweden. My main object is the golden eagle.
I work on my own, feeding eagles from October through May, which gives me the opportunity to plan my photographing in detail. Visit my website www.connylundstrom.com
